A hearty navy bean soup in a tomato base, the national food of the Greeks.

  • 250 gr., navy beans (medium size)
  • 3 carrots, sliced is small cubes
  • 3 - 4 celery stalks, finely chopped
  • 1 cup of olive oil
  • 1 big onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can of whole tomatoes with sauce blended
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • A pinch of sugar or 1 tablespoonful of ketchup

Directions:

Strain the water and place the beans in a pot with fresh water.

Boil for a while and remove froth. Strain once again.
