Another year has added up on my shoulders but I am content. I have a wonderful family around me to share these years with.
This morning I have been trying to make my birthday cake but the telephone has been ringing like mad. Relatives from Cyprus, relatives from Sparta and friends here and there to give me their wishes. Thank God that I made the sponge cake yesterday.
I am preparing my Torta Fragole which I will be submitting over at Mike’s table. However because of the phones calls I am late in preparing it as I want to have it ready by lunch time, which will also be a late one as I have delayed the food as well. Anyway, I have prepared the Creme Patisserie and until it cools down, I have sat to rest at the computer and saw the click event.
I have made made extra Strawberry Sauce to put on my birthday cake, so I am submitting this for Jai and Bee’s March Click photography event over at Jugalbandi. If you have yet to visit their blog:, please so. You will get to see lots of nice things: food, photographs, travel etc. This month’s theme is “Show Us Your Metal” and I will serve the sauce in a silver bowl and silver spoons which I brought from Cyprus.

Eva, Thanks for your wishes. Hope you have found some nistisima. I never thought of tagging them under nistisima. I do that in the Greek recipes. See under vegetarian.

Nuria, my friend, don’t feel bad. There are time that we are so busy we cannot visit all our friends. My birthday was on the 29th.
About the embroidery, it is called Lefkaritiko (named from the village of Lefkara). It is not a cross stitch but it’s technique is unique. When Leonardo Da Vinci visited Cyprus he brought back to Italy embroidery. If you want to read more, I am giving you a link.
