Dessert made out of leftovers

Sharing is caring!

This is not a recipe nor did I intend to publish it but so much food is wasted that I just wanted to point out how important it is not to waste any food.
Prices are going up every day so nothing must be wasted. A little imagination is enough to make new recipes either savory or desserts out of our leftovers.

This is a word I have been using a lot lately.
Well, I had some leftover pasta flora, some leftover whipped cream, cherries and apricots since last Tuesday, which were about to go to the bin if they weren’t eaten soon and just a little bit of ice cream in the freezer.

I pitted the cherries and apricots (about 2 cups), added 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water, a small piece of cinnamon stick and cooked them in a non stick frying pan for five minutes, to make a fruit  sauce.

I added a thin slice of pasta flora as the base of the dessert, 2 spoonfuls of whipped cream, 2 spoonfuls of fruit and a spoonful of ice cream et voila.

I have posted another recipe today, so don’t skip it…

Peter, what are doing up this time of the day. It must be really early in Sydney, isn't it but then you may not be in Sydney, right? Thanks for your comment.

It's very true that prices are going up every day. And imagination does play a big part in cooking like this. Great idea Ivy with the leftovers and very inventive.
