Thank you all of you for the lovely recipes you made and such lovely words you have written for your mothers. I am posting the roundup a bit earlier than I have originally announced as we shall be going out to celebrate in a while and if I get any more participations I will add them first thing tomorrow morning.
Enjoy this lovely song, which I dedicate to all of you and, which says it all:
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, by Eddie Kilgallon
Lot’s of life has gone by,
Since we’d sit around and play,
Under water colored skies
Time and I, both flew away.
Of all the precious gifts you gave me,
Number one is that you made me,
I will always be your baby,
Happy Mother’s Day.
We’d gather ’round the table,
Gather ’round the Christmas tree,
We still do when we’re able,
But it’s not enough for me.
Lots of life has gone by,
since we’d sit around and play,
I will always be your baby,
Some things never change,
I’m so happy that you made me,
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!
Margot, of Coffee and Vanilla, has made a Traditional Polish Cake with Chocolate Glaze for mother’s day. In England where Margot lives, mother’s day was celebrated on the 22nd March and in her own country Poland it will be celebrated on the 26th May, so it doesn’t matter which day we are celebrating so long as we appreciate what our mothers have done to raise us.
Lisa, of Chef in my Kitchen, has made her mother’s Apple Crumble.
Susan, of Food Blogga has made this recipe inspired by her mother’s Spinach and Ricotta Frittata.
Angie, of Angie’s Recipes, has made a Strawberry Mousse Cake, topped with Italian Meringue.
Nags, of Edible Garden, has made Cheddar Cheese Muffins.
Nuria, of Spanish Recipes made one of her mother’s favourite soups Vichyssoise with Iberian Acorn Ham.
Bee and Jai, of Jugalbandi, have made a Not-Greek Honey Lemon Cake, (which was a twist from a Greek Honey Lemon Cake) using oats and coconut as well as brandy in the glaze. The cake and a song were dedicated to the memory of Bee’s mother who loved the flavour of brandy .
Lubna, of Yummy Food has made her mom’s Special Koftoh Ka Khorma and a lovely writeup about her mum.
Priya, of Priya’s Easy N Tasty Recipes, has written some lovely words about her mom and made her favourite Chicken Balls.
Malini, of Khana Khazana with Malini, has made sent three participations for the event:
Sooji Halwa
Chocolate Pudding, and
Caramel-Vanilla Pudding.
Yasmeen, of Health Nut, has also written something lovely about her mother and made Palak (Spinach) Paneer/Tofu, as her mother makes it.
Ben, of What’s Cooking, has made Bean Enchilladas.
Gaye, of Laws of the Kitchen, has made an Orange and Hazelnut Torta.
Rachel, of Tangerine’s Kitchen, has made her mom’s prized Chicken Stir Fry and wrote some lovely words about her mother as well.
Rekha from Plantainleaf, wrote a lovely tribute to her mother and made her favourite recipe Dal Kahori.
Kathy, of Cooking on the Side, has made two lovely recipes for Mother’s Day:
Sausage Breakfast Casserole, and
Sour Cream Pecan Coffee Cake. Maria, of Kali Orexi, has made Ravani.
Sowmya, of Creative Saga, lost her mother a few years ago and wrote a beautiful tribute to her mother and made an Eggless Pomegranate Cake.
Parita, of Parita’s World, has made an Eggless Raspberry Tiramisu Cake.
Konstantina, of Exei Gousto, has made Hearts with Strawberry Cream and pistachios (Καρδούλες με κρέμα φράουλες και φυστίκια) and wrote some lovely words for her mother.
Trish, of Trish’s Food Adventures, prepared Lamb shanks, Cous cous and roasted garlic, to celebrate with her family Mother’s Day.
Cinzia, of Cindystar, has made a Tiramisu, which she used to make often with her mother.
Finally my entry is an Orange Yoghurt Cake, which was the first cake I learned from my mother and I passed on to my daughter, now with my own twist.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!!

Hello Ivy, wow what a wonderful round-up and such stunning entries!!
Apologies Ivy for not taking part I had planned to do so but due to circumstances, I was unable. My entry would have been a lemon curd cake as my late mother enjoyed anything with lemons in it.
Happy Belated Mothers Day to all
